(More customer reviews)I've tried other wash-in products for my Gore-tex/waterproof jackets and they don't work. This stuff works great and restores the water-repellancy to the surface of my jackets.
I follow these steps:
1. Wash with some type of sports wash or mild powdered detergent;
2. Hang for a few minutes to get the water out;
3. Spray the jacket with this product;
4. Put in the dryer on low heat.

(More customer reviews)This is not a spray on and dry product. Must be heat activated into the fabric. Works very well on jackets that have lost the water beading properties. Leaves a little residue in the dryer. Also used an iron to set it in. Left a sticky film on the iron's non-stick surface but scrubbed off after it was cool.

(More customer reviews)I have used seamgrip for lots of stuff. Sealing bivys and tents. Patching holes in outer wear. Repairing wear on boot and just about anything else.
One thing to be careful of, it is difficult to manipulate. It comes out as a goo that is tacky. You will be tempted to use your fingers to manipulate it. Once on your hands or something you do not want it on, it can be very hard to get off and a small mess will become a big one quickly.
I found that WD40 cuts it very well before it sets up. If you get it on your fingers make sure NONE is under your fingernail. Even a thin layer can set up and take WEEKS to wear off. If it is under your fingernail... it will seamgrip your finger to the nail and you will get an infection. The stuff does NOT want to come off.
Great stuff, gives a good buzz too...

Easy application and quick drying without spots or streaking if you follow directions. So far, happy with the product. Time will tell if the product's UV filter will lengthen the life of this cover.

McNett Tent Sure floor sealant with foam brush, 8oz Review

(More customer reviews)There are a lot of different products out there that straddle the line between "Water Repellent", "Water Resistant" and "Water Proof". I was looking for a treatment that would "Water Proof" a home made "Basha" (or shelter) based on the Australian Army design.
I purchased some 70 denier nylon in CADPAT Digital Camouflage (The Canadian Army version) to use for the material. I sewed two pieces together for a single piece that measures 8 x 10 feet. I affixed reinforced grommets, nylon strapping for a reinforced ridge line with 12" pieces of 550 para cord sewn into the ridge line for additional tie downs. Ultimately you end up with a large sheet of tough fabric with numerous nylon loop, grommets and para cord to allow for various methods of shelter building IE, A-Frame, Lean-to, bivy shelter, etc.
All of this would be for naught if the material were not entirely waterproof.
I did a fair bit of research and the fact that this product was designed to waterproof tent floors I felt it was likely exactly what I needed.
Well, one and one half bottles later I have a very large and very water proof shelter that I would put up against any amount of rainfall.
The product is easy to apply, dries fairly fast (24 hours completely) and is very durable.
If you want "waterproof" then this is the product I would go for.
