Sportz Mid-Size Air Mattress Review

Sportz Mid-Size Air Mattress
Average Reviews:

I purchased it because the description said it has a built in pump. What I didn't know was that the built in pump is essentially a useless built in hand pump. I ended up using a separate battery pump to pump up the mattress. If I had known, I could have spent 1/2 the price for full size air mattress.

Stansport Conifer Steel Cot with Mattress (30- X75- X15-Inch) Review

Stansport Conifer Steel Cot with Mattress (30- X75- X15-Inch)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a sturdy cot with all spring platform that would be very comfortable to sleep on except for a poor design. The cross brace on the center leg is only about two inches below the bottom of the spring platform so when I'm lying on it the brace digs into my hip and is very uncomfortable.
I weigh about 175 lbs. and I'm a side sleeper. If you are a back or stomach sleeper or weigh less than (I'm guessing) 115 lbs, this may work OK for you.
I'm trying to decide whether to cut the cross brace out and add my own 4-6" below the platform or to send this back. As it is currently, I can't sleep comfortably on it which is a shame because it would otherwise be a good product.

Wenzel Full Insta-bed with Comfort Adjust Pump Review

Wenzel Full Insta-bed with Comfort Adjust Pump
Average Reviews:

I've slept on a few air mattresses, I live in NYC, were space is a premium. I needed something that could tuck away easily but still be a more comfortable option than the couch. I realized it would have been nice to get an automatic pump versus a hand pump. But, that said, this is an air mattress that you could take car camping. I slept on it, it was comfortable. I think it lost a little air-- but I'm not sure I may have not screwed a cap on tightly enough. It is a great deal for the price, in that it is no less comfortable that the $100plus air mattresses I have slept on. AND-- i used a hair dryer to do the bulk of the blowing up, which was nice. I just use the hand pump for the finishing touch. Fits very compactly into a little storage ottoman (with room for sheets and blankets). I would give it 5 stars except for whether the loss of air was not user error, and the hand pump.

Eureka Camping Cot Review

Eureka Camping Cot
Average Reviews:

I am very dissapointed in the quality of this product. We purchased 2 Eureka cots as we tent camp several times a year. After using my cot twice, I sat down on the cot, and the center legs bent. We contacted Eureka, and they offered nothing. My husband improvised some metal supports to brace the bent part of the leg. The brace held perfectly, but the next time we camped the leg bent again above the brace. Neither of us weighs 300 lbs that this cot is rated for. I will never purchase another Eureka product.

Coleman King-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll Storage Review

Coleman King-Sized Quickbed with Wrap 'N' Roll Storage
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Whether you are having relatives over and giving up your king size bed, you are traveling to family where there are simply no extra beds or you are looking for a bed to take on your camping trip, this is a nice spare bed to have on hand for every occasion.
After my Aero Bed deflated in the middle of the night the last time my parents came to visit, I tossed it out into the garbage and bought this one. When we moved into our new place and had still not moved all the furniture we spent the night camping out on this bed.
The bed inflates in under three minutes if you get one of the Ozark Trail Electric Air Pumps. I almost prefer the pump not to be attached to the bed, as is the case in the aero beds.
It took a few minutes to figure out the advanced double lock valve, but it makes inflation and deflation fast and simple.
This bed holds up to 600lbs and has a extra thick heavy-duty PVC with rayon flocked top. 56 coils provide more strength and firmness. I'd say it was almost more comfortable than my old Aero bed.
Perfect for camping, guests, an extra bed you can put out in the living room to watch movies on, etc, etc. This bed also can be stored in a very small space.
Fairly comfortable and perfect for short term use. Works with your flat or fitted sheets and is guaranteed not to leak or you can return it for a replacement.

Large enough to easily accommodate two adults (or four small children), this king-size Quickbed gets its name from Double-Lock valves that allow it to inflate 10 times quicker than air beds with pinch valves. And when morning rolls around you'll find that, thanks to the Double-Lock valves, the air beds deflate 20 times faster as well. Keep one of these king-size flocked air beds around for camping trips, unexpected guests, or kids' slumber parties (the mattress will accommodate fitted or flat king-size sheets). The heavy-duty PVC construction is designed to endure all sorts of abuse while the soft top adds warmth and softness for colder nights. The air bed can hold up to 600 pounds. Its 56 coils and 6-inch side gussets provide support and, unless you sit down from a height, keep you from bumping the ground. Pump sold separately. One-year limited warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed with 4D Pump and Wrap 'N' Roll Storage Review

Coleman Queen-Sized Quickbed with 4D Pump and Wrap 'N' Roll Storage
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When I'm going on a family camping trip where there is no packing involved and all I have to do is set up the tent and gear, I always take along this Coleman flocked Queen size bed for my wife and I. It is pretty easy to inflate (especially with the Quickpump), and is so comfortable I sometimes almost forget I'm sleeping on the ground. We also use this mattress a lot at home when we have lots of company and don't have enough beds to go around.
My one complaint with this bed, and one which I have heard others share, is that it is not big enough. It is supposed to be a queen size bed, but it just doesn't seem as large as our queen size bed at home. Aside from this minor complaint, however, the Coleman flocked mattress has served me well. In fact, I slept on one for the first month I was away from home at college, and was still satisfied with its comfort after sleeping on it for over four weeks.

Slumberjack Big Cot Review

Slumberjack Big Cot
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When I first used this cot it seemed excellent. The frame is very sturdy and the cot was comfortable. If I had written a review at that point I would have given it 5 stars. But the second trip I took the cover burst like a balloon. Really, I could feel it give a little, and by the time I could get off it there was a 4 foot long rip. It was then I started looking closely at the material of the cover - it is some rubberized material with a few threads in it - not a real canvas. And it has zero rip-stop capability. I tried to sew it but it was like trying to sew a balloon - it just doesn't work. The Slumberjack people say they will give me a new cover, but they never seem to have one in stock to send (for 4 months?). Only get this cot if you plan on using it once! My previous cot lasted 8 years.
Update Oct. 2009: The Slumberjack folks were bought out by another company which may explain the difficulty getting a new cover during the crossover. With the new owners I was sent the promised cover [actually, they sent me 2 covers.] Used it one month long trip with no problem yet. We will see how it lasts next year.

I was expecting a 32 inch width. The label on the carrying bag specifies 32 inches. The actual width is 29 inches! The ends were easy to set up but the two middle leg supports were impossible to connect until I bent them slightly inwards, then they were easy to connect to the main frame. I would've given 4 stars if the width had been stated accurately.

4 stars because I just got it and haven't yet had an opportunity to use it. I'll post again with a comprehensive review. It arrived quickly and appears to be a very sturdy product. Setup was a snap and I'm "just a girl". I love how big it is. Compact storage is another plus. Unlike an air mattress I won't have to worry about it being cold or losing air in the middle of the night.

I think for many people this bed would be great, but it didn't quite work for me. The pump works great, but is very loud both filling and emptying. It gets the mattress very firm. Though the mattress was firm enough, the whole structure bowed down in the center under the weight of two people. It was enough that neither of us were comfortable by morning.

Blantex XK-3 Heavy Duty Steel Folding bed with 2-1/2-Inch Mat
Average Reviews:

These beds are exactally what we are looking for. I love the four legs, which make them stable on sloped ground. My husband and I are both over 6 foot tall. The width of these allow plenty of room to move around without hitting the frame. The pad is very comfortable, and looks to be very durable. I like the metal spring system, which will be durable for many years to come and the springs can be replaced with in need be unlike material based cots. If the material rips, your are in trouble. I used beds like these years ago, and then went to the inflatable matresses. The air beds make you hot and don't always hold the air. I'm so glad to be back in cots. These provide under the bed storage( we camp with a lot of gear, 3 children and two dogs) and all our gear and dogs fit well underneath. I do wish they were a little taller, maybe 3 or 4 inches. The are a little heavy, but for the comfort and design, it's a fair trade. I would recommend these to anyone who wants a superior night sleep while "roughing it". Just one more note, we will be using these when our hunting party comes in too!!!!!

Slumberjack Big XL Cot Review

Slumberjack Big XL Cot
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Slumberjack arrived on my door tonight and I tried to set it up in my tiny living room and ended up having to move furniture! The size is fantastic, it has plenty of room to sleep and flop around without rolling over the support bars. When laying on it the size feels more like a twin bed than a camp cot.
Pay attention to the fact that it is TALL. The description clearly states the height, but at 5'5" my feet don't touch the ground when sitting on the cot so getting out of it will be a comical event. If you are tall this shouldn't be a problem, but if you're in the Hobbit height category (like me) take heed.
The cot is heavy and while it comes with a sturdy case with shoulder strap it isn't the option for long treks into the woods. It also requires some muscle to get the cot set up. The concept is simple, unfold it and feed the two end bars through the top and bottom of the cot, but actually attaching the end bars is hard. I also think the plastic hooks will not last years as long as the rest of the cot. Once the cot is put together it is sturdy and will provide an excellent sleeping experience, but it isn't designed to be set up and taken down night after night.
The quality of the cot is good and the built-in shelf under the cot will be handy for keeping things dry, tucking a book in, or (for me) keeping a ladder close.

Teton Sports Outfitter XXL Cot Review

Teton Sports Outfitter XXL Cot
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This cot rocks. I'm a big guy, 6'2" and weigh 265lbs., and I needed something very durable and portable. This was just what I needed. There is plenty of room on the bed for getting comfortable and stretching out. The frame is rock solid and there is barely any rocking to the frame when getting in and out of it. You can easily have two people sleep in this bed if you don't mind sleeping close together, this cot definitely holds up to the challenge. I purchased a bed roll and put it on top of this and it is very comfortable to sleep on. The frame is completely assembled all you have to do is pull it out of the bag, unfold it and snap the two end rails in place. The only drawback I see, and the reason for the four stars, is that the end rails can unhook if someone is pulling up on them. It seems like there should be a locking mechanism or something, but it doesn't seem to be a huge concern for regular use. I will say this bed is much too big and heavy to carry around for hiking, you can use it for camping if you can park close to the site. Works great for an extra bed around the house if your tired of repairing inflatable mattresses. The higher price might turn a few people off but I think for the quality it's worth it. I don't like things that break easily or feel cheap and this cot has a solid feel to it.

Intex Pillow Rest Queen Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump Review

Intex Pillow Rest Queen Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump

I bought this airbed couple of month ago. Two people can easily sleep on it and the pump comes in very handy but unfortunately it lasted only 1 month and all the walls that separate the chambers detached from the surface and exactly one night after that the bed was completely out of air! Buying this kind of mattress was a big mistake. If you want one to last-long, go for a bed with just one chamber.

Offering all the benefits of the Intex Raised Downy airbed but with the added advantage of lighter weight and mid-rise height, the Intex Pillow Rest queen inflatable airbed is ideal for travelers who want the comforts of a bed but the convenience of a blow-up mattress. The Pillow Rest is equipped with a quality-tested, 20.8-gauge waterproof flocked top, along with 15-gauge vinyl beams and 16-gauge sides and bottom. The resulting surface is comfortable and secure, whether you're sleeping at the in-laws' overcrowded house or setting up a guest bed in the basement. In addition, the Pillow Rest is remarkably easy to inflate thanks to the built-in, high-powered electric pump, which does its job in a mere three minutes. No more fussing with tiring hand or foot pumps or rummaging through the garage for your detached electric pump. The Pillow Rest is raised 17.5 inches from the floor, making it far taller than most inflatable mattresses, and includes built-in pillows for added comfort. And at 60 by 18.5 by 80 inches (W x H x D), the mattress is an official queen size, making it a good fit for fitted sheets. The Pillow Rest queen bed--which offers a capacity of 600 pounds--comes with an AC power cord, a shoulder strap, and a duffel bag. It's also backed by a 90-day limited warranty.

I originally bought this bed as a "quick fix" as I was moving into a new apartment. After the first few nights of using it, I was impressed enough to delay my plans to purchase a real bed. Unfortunately, I noticed that it had started to develop small leaks after using it continuously for three years. Patching it up worked at first, but six months later, another small leak developed and I knew it was time to replace it.
Having struck gold once, I bought a similar air bed at from a different company. It was okay but after one night on it, I decided that I need to patch up the old bed one last time until I order a replacement for it. The soft mattress top on my Rising Comfort really makes a difference, the other one was just an air bed. I'm ordering another ASAP, but I'm deciding on which model to purchase.
I don't expect that very many people would be looking to purchase this as their main bed. But I would recommend it for whatever purpose it is needed for. Speaking for myself, I experienced very little air loss for the first few years without ever taking it down. Before I had a leak, I recall only using the pump a few times to make it more firm. I'm wondering if those who had trouble received defective units or had problems with the cap when periodically deflating and sorting it.

Coleman 4-in-1 Quickbed Review

Coleman 4-in-1 Quickbed
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After researching many of the other more expensive, self-inflating air beds, I decided to purchase the Coleman 4-in-1 Quickbed for overnight guests. It's less than half the price of an average twin size Aero Bed and much more versatile as it can be configured as two twins, one king, or one double-height twin. You do need to buy a separate pump, but the Coleman pump is inexpensive and can be used for other inflating/deflating purposes (e.g., pool toys, vaccuum storage bags, etc.). Each mattress inflates and deflates in just a couple minutes, and it's quite easy to roll it up for storage. It's comfortable both as a single matress or double height. I ended up buying a second 4-in-1 Quickbed, so now I can accommodate up to 4 overnight guests for less than $100. I can't vouch for how long it will last, but even if it sprung a leak after a couple years of periodic use, it would still be worth it at this low price.

Got unexpected guests? Pull out the inflatable Coleman 4-in-1 Quickbed to accommodate one or two guests comfortably. This uniquely designed, two-piece bed can be used in multiple configurations: the two Twin-size beds used separately (for two separate sleepers), zipped together for a King-size bed, or stacked on top of one another (and securely snapped together) for a tall Twin bed. It features Coleman's ComfortSmart coil system that conforms to your body's sleep position and a soft suede top. It also features Coleman's exclusive Wrap 'N' Roll storage system--just roll into attached bag, tie and transport.
This bed is protected by Coleman's Airtight System, featuring a double lock valve (which opens extra wide for quick and easy inflation and deflation) and an exclusive PVC formula that 15 percent more puncture resistant and can stand up to 600 pounds of pressure.

Kamp-Rite Double Tent Cot Review

Kamp-Rite Double Tent Cot
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I will give you a bit of info on me so that others who were in my boat will be able to better understand. Im a large guy @ 6'5" and 330lbs. So for those of you wondering how it will hold up to us big guys, it did well. I never felt like it was under too much strain and was also long enough. I bought this tentcot with intentions of using it on monthly Boy Scout campouts. We generally dont hike in to our sleeping quarters otherwise you might be leaving this at home unless you have a pack mule to carry it for you. That was one of the biggest issues, but I knew this before getting it, so it was an expected problem. I have a truck, so it fits in the bed of it easily, if you have a small car that the rear seat doesnt fold down to slide it through you will be strapping this thing to the roof, it is large(see product for dimensions). I did buy an air mattress to fit inside, and fits almost perfectly to the inside dimensions, only problem with that for us longer people, with the approx. 8" of height added from the mattress and with the gradual taper from the ends of the tent, you lose about 6" of length(roughly). In otherwords your head and feet will be touching the ends at full extension if you are 6'5" or taller. I dont see it as a problem for me because I dont sleep at full extension, although I did not use this during my campout yet to see how it worked. I took the tentcot on its first excursion to Woodbadge(Scout Leadership Training), and it just happened to be in the low 20's so it got a good test, as well as a little bit of rain, but it held up well, and was very comfortable. Something else I need to mention is there is a bar that runs through the middle of the bed, its as if there were 2 cots stacked side by side, so if you were thinking of getting the double so that you could spraul out, you will definitely need the air mattress. I like this bar, because im a side sleeper and dont roll around much when sleeping so it was very comfy. I used the other side to set up all of my camping gear(backpack, clothes, lantern etc...). I also bought the underneath gear storage bag, i thought i would use this for my shoes and things that might be dirty or smell, to keep the tent clean, but also keeping the stuff from getting soaked in the rain if left outside. Its also very easy to setup. I do recommend practice at home, but after one try at home, I saw how easy it was, and you will always be the 1st one finished setting up your tent! As I use it more, I may notice more good or bad things, but for now I am very pleased with my product. And everyone that sees it will want one!

If you've done a fair amount of camping, you know that sleeping on a cot inside a roomy tent is far more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. Now you can combine both luxuries with the double-size Kamp-Rite tent cot, a fully framed and enclosed cot with nylon sides and tie-up no-see-um mesh doors and windows--just like a personal tent. The legs of the cot are suspended a full 11 inches off the ground, keeping you away from moisture, snakes, and rodents, so you needn't worry about waking up with a mouse inside your sleeping bag. More significantly, the cot is roomy and comfortable, with plenty of space for two people to stretch out and sleep in style. (The double version is longer than a queen bed and almost as wide, with plenty of headroom thanks to the tent's dome styling.) Simply situate the tent cot on any piece of level ground, toss in your favorite sleeping bag or blanket, and you're ready for a great night of sleep.
The tent cot's frame is made of lightweight yet durable aluminum, with anti-vibration aluminum nuts and bolts that won't loosen over time or rust. The "tent" portion of the product features durable 420-denier nylon fabric with no-see-um doors and windows that open on all four sides. When the outer nylon doors are zipped open and the interior no-see-um mesh doors are zipped closed, the tent cot is 100-percent insect-proof yet still encourages 360-degree airflow--a must for warmer climates. The durable one-piece Cordura nylon-fabric sleeping surface, meanwhile, is firm and level, helping you sleep soundly throughout the night. And should you encounter severe stormy weather, simply set up the "total encapsulation" rain fly.
Easy to set up and transport thanks to the heavy-duty carrying bag, the double-size tent cot measures 84 by 40 by 53 inches (W x H x D) when set up and 53 by 7 by 31 inches when folded. The cot also comes in alternate original and oversized one-person sizes and is backed by a one-year warranty against defects.
