Coleman Cool Zephyr Window Fan Review

Coleman Cool Zephyr Window Fan
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Yes, the fan can be a little loud... but I LIKE that feature. When you're bike riding across the state of Iowa with 10,000 of your closest friends the fan can drown out all the little noises of your neighbors in their tents. But most importantly, it will keep you cool in the late July Iowa weather.
One of the best features of this fan over others like it, is that the battery pack plugs into the fan. When you break camp for the night you just unplug the battery pack and store it in your bags. With other fans the batteries remain in the fan and it is too easy for the switch to get bumped during travel leaving you with dead batteries at your next campsite.
A must have for your tent.

Kelty TripTease Lightline Review

Kelty TripTease Lightline
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Kelty triptease lightline cord is gold in color, about 3/32" diam., and is labeled as 1 oz for 50 feet, braided nylon, labeled with 188 pound break strength (didn't test), with lifetime warranty, contains a single reflective thread sewn in a X pattern, 4 Xs per inch of cord. Reflectivity with a flashlight is okay and functional. Note that the Viper Equinox is much better for reflectivity.
Viper Equinox is a competitor sold by Campmor and others at much lower price than Kelty. It is also gold color, a little larger at 1/8" diam., has 3M reflective thread with 2 threads per X pattern, 4 Xs per 1.5 inches of cord. It is also braided nylon, model ELW401. It is about twice as reflective as Kelty. Also sold in 50 foot pieces.
Another option is REI's blue, green, and white cord, that is braided, 1/8" diameter, single reflective cord sewn in a spiral dash with about 4 lines per 1.25 inch of cord. It has about the same reflectivity as the Kelty cord, but it also adds a glow in the dark feature that actually works for several minutes after a flashlight hits it. The glow in the dark white cords are a series of 4 threads together with 3 of the sets per inch of cord. Basically, the glow cords are about 75% of what you see on a cross section and the reflective cords are about 5%. This cord is about the same cost as Kelty. One additional advantage is that it is sold by the foot, so you can get a small piece or a really long piece.

Coghlan's Inside/Outside Tent Mat Review

Coghlan's Inside/Outside Tent Mat
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
There is nothing wrong with this product at all for the price. We used it inside our tent for a place to step in and take off shoes. I was affraid is was going to be very thin and cheap, but turns out is was just right (for inside). The bottom has a little grip so it doesn't slide all over. I just wish I could get one a little bigger. We roll this up with our tent for storage. Not sure how this would work outside, I am guessing it would get dirty fast and I don't think it is sturdy enough to be used that way.
If you need a small floor mat to put inside your tent, this will work great.

Coleman Tent Power System With Fan Review

Coleman Tent Power System With Fan
Average Reviews:

I assume anyone reading this or thinking of purchasing has camped in the heat before and experienced what it's like waking up inside of an easy bake oven. I purchased this item for Bonnaroo 2010 to hopefully make 4 days living in 90+ degree temperatures somewhat bearable. I had hoped to delay the inevitable of waking up at the crack of dawn and getting another hour or so of much needed sleep. There would be no such luck as the fan blade assembly came off of the shaft after just an hour of use!! I reattached the blade assembly and as you can imagine within a few minutes it was off the shaft again.
The assembly is plastic with foam fan blades, light enough to maintain longer battery life but not designed for longevity. A simple grub screw and a flat spot filed on the shaft would have easily corrected this problem.
I imagine most will be sent back and they'll be available on discount sites in the near future. Save your money and look for a solution elsewhere.

Coleman Road Trip Beach Shade Review

Coleman Road Trip Beach Shade
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We ordered this cabana because we wanted something to protect our 1 year old from the sun at the beach, with more coverage than an umbrella. We've used this once at the beach so far, and it seems to do the job pretty well. It's pretty easy to set up, though not as easy as the pop-up versions -- but those usually cost significantly more. It's very lightweight, too. My husband, my baby, and I fit comfortably under the shade in sitting positions, and could stretch out with our legs sticking out, too, with minimal sun exposure.
Some criticisms: 1) I think they should include two more stakes for the "door" so you can secure it in the down position. 2) It would be better if there were some smaller "windows" higher up, other than the rear window/door. The way it is now, you only get air flow by opening the rear window/door, and in certain conditions, this would significantly reduce your shade area in the cabana. 3) When at the beach, it's a little tough to fold up the fabric properly without trapping sand in it. Beaches are usually fairly breezy, and if you try to fold it from being flattened on the ground (as is the proper way), the flapping fabric and blowing sand is quite annoying.
In short, if you don't want to spend twice as much money for the pop-up, spring type, then this should suit you just fine.

Coleman Tent Fan Review

Coleman Tent Fan
Average Reviews:

When tent camping alone, this little fan works wonders. It doesn't crank out a lot of air, but it does get things flowing pretty good considering how small it is. It beats lugging around a portable standup fan and having to fight with it all night. This fan stays tucked neatly out of the way on the dome of my tent.
I wouldn't suggest using it if you have more than one person in your tent with you, especially if you AND your guest get hot fairly easily. If you are alone, however, this little fan can keep you relatively comfortable all night.
It's a camper's dream for a little relief, but it isn't much help if you're camping in an area that stays rather hot in the evening.

Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light Review

Coleman Cool Zephyr Ceiling Fan with Light
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've got two of these little fan/light combos and I love them. They're perfect for car/canoe camping, but would be on the bulky side for backpacking. I also use them in the bunk ends of my pop up camper. They do a great job of circulating the air and fending off condensation.
Used one on a recent canoe camping trip in some pretty hot, humid weather and it allowed me to sleep comfortably and remain sane. I woke up to zero condensation in my tent as well since the air circulation was so good with the fan in use for most of the night (I did turn it off in the early morning hours because it was getting a little chilly).
The fan moves a decent amount of air for a small one or two man tent (or bunk end), and the light is adequate to read by. The night light will provide enough light to see your way around if you need it.
You can also, with the creative use of small bungee cords, direct the air flow directly on your face if you're as hot natured as I am.
It seems to make good use of the battery power, too. I haven't run one out of power yet.
The magnet that hold the fan in place is VERY strong, yet easy to remove with a simple twist.
The fan blades are made out of a soft foam so there's no chance of injury from sticking a finger in the blades.
My only complaints are:
1. Switches are easily turned on when in transit (I always turn one of the batteries upside down to counter this problem).
2. The switches are impossible to see once you've got it up and running. So you just have to guess which switch does what and which direction to slide it. I guess over time it will become second nature, but right now I have trouble keeping it straight.
All in all, I'd say this product is everything that you would expect. I'd recommend it to anyone who will be canoe camping or car camping without electricity. I've been very impressed with it, as have my friends who camp with me. Several of them have told me that this is on their Christmas lists this year.

Keep your tent cool, comfortable, and well lit on warm summer or fall evenings with the Coleman Cool Zephyr ceiling fan, which includes a built-in light. The Cool Zephyr features an adjustable two-speed airflow control, so you can set the fan to high if you're desperate for circulation or low if you just need a steady breeze. The separately controlled light, meanwhile, includes four white LEDs and one amber LED. The white LEDs give you a nice reading or game-playing light, while the amber LED makes a terrific night light. Best of all, the Cool Zephyr attaches to any tent with its powerful magnetic plates. The Cool Zephyr runs on four D-cell batteries (sold separately).
About Coleman More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.
In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

Coleman Free-Standing Tent Fan Review

I'm surprised to see negative reviews. We've been using these for 3+ years now and have no complaints at all.
We use them on our boat in the caribbean. the temps are 80+ w/ humidity at 80+ also. it can get hot and stuffy in the cabin. but not with this fan. it puts out a lot of air for a little fan. and the heavy bottom keeps it from flying around the cabin in rough water or falling over when kicked at night.
We run them every night, all night. batteries last about 2 weeks at that rate (about 125 hours.)but i always carry extras just in case.
Plan on using one (1) per person.
We finally replaced ours after the wiring became disconnected. I couldn't find a way in to that compartment to fix it. but at $14 each, so what.

Coleman Tent Kit Review

Coleman Tent Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Let's face it - when camping, there are two categories of gear: necessities and other stuff that may be helpful. This package from Coleman, consisting of (1) a small broom and dustpan, (2) four aluminum stakes, (3) a rubber-headed mallet and (4) a stake remover, definitely falls in the second category.
(1) Broom and dustpan -- small, plastic and green, this just might get the most use out of anything in the package. Not much to say here -- it does its job. Save the plastic wrapper this comes in, because its hard to get the broom back into the mesh bag without it.
(2) Four aluminum stakes -- these are actually pretty good. The stakes are much longer and sturdier than the ones that came with my tent. They are essentially giant nails with a green plastic head attached for the line to tie onto. I would worry about cracking the heads if they got too cold.
(3) Rubber-headed mallet -- much more substantial than you might think. good heft to this and it will do it's job and any others that might call for a similar tool. A bit heavy, if anything.
(4) Stake remover -- Cheap, bends out of shape.
All of this comes packed in a little mesh bag. The bag is not really big enough for all of this stuff, nor is it really sturdy enough to put up with any amount of abuse, and the stakes punch right through the bottom.
Bottom line -- you can camp a thousand times without having this set and you would never miss it, but it's always nice to have extra stakes and a way to clean your tent floor. For the price, it's not a bad set to have.

The Coleman tent kit comes with everything you need to set up and break down your tent. The kit starts with four sturdy 10-inch steel tent stakes, which keep your tent from blowing away in the middle of the night. The solid rubber mallet, meanwhile, makes it easy to pound the stakes into the ground, so you don't have to search fruitlessly for a nearby rock. When it's time to pack up, you can turn to the easy-to-use tent stake puller, which keeps your fingers from cramping up. And no one wants to bring the campsite home, which is why the kit includes a handy whisk broom/dust pan combo for cleaning the tent floor. A must-have for frequent campers, the tent comes with a handy mesh storage bag.
About Coleman The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.
