After close inspection, I discovered that the location where the elastic straps are sewn into the pillow edge is not adequately sealed. In addition, after rolling it up several times, the straps dettached. Because of the design defect, I wouldn't say that it is a pillow - more like a pad. It just doesn't hold air.

(More customer reviews)I enjoy backpacking or just being lazy at a campsite all weekend and this has got to be the best "compressible pillow" that I have ever laid my head on. This pillow is fairly lightweight (for being fairly inexpensive), and it is still able to provide adequate support all night long.
The pillow is attached to its carry bag and simply rolls up into the bag where it can be zipped up inside. Once more, if you wish you can compress the pillow even further with a compression sack or by simply squishing it where you want it (within reason).
I am a fairly big guy who likes to sleep in comfort. I like 3 pillows or more on my bed, but this one pillow provided me with just enough support that I found myself content for the very first time with just a sleeping bag, a sleeping mat, and one little pillow.
If you can't afford something extravagant, and you want simple camping (without lugging along your entire bed from home) or a fairly lightweight pillow that provides satisfactory support for when you go backpacking I would definitely recommend that you give this product a try. It worked for me.
Now, if I can just find the perfect camp sleeping mat...

At first I didn't think he wanted to take it because he usually bundles up his shirts and lays his head on that.. but he brought the pillow with him anyway. When he came back from the trip he told me that everyone was eyeing his pillow and wanted one for themselves. He really liked the pillow. He thought it was comfortable for the size and cost. He folded it in half and used it that way. I don't think it was that soft unless you folded it. You are also able to fold it and tuck it into a nice flap that is located on the back of the pillow for easy storage and it's nice for when you don't have a lot of room in your backpack.
All in all, good purchase. Oh, and it says that the colors vary when you order it. Our pillow came in Red. (just so you know)
